One-Way and Return Shuttle Services

We offer four daily shuttle services with various pick-up points, ensuring there’s an option that suits you and your travel preferences when visiting the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

You can choose our popular Tongariro Park and Ride Shuttle, which picks you up from either the Tongariro or Ketetahi Carpark and drops you at the start of the trail at Mangatepopo Carpark. This shuttle option provides the flexibility to explore this iconic track at your own pace and return to your car after a rewarding day of hiking.

For those looking for the convenience of a round-trip shuttle, consider our return transport services, including the Taupo Return Shuttle, Turangi Return Shuttle, and Tongariro Holiday Park Return Shuttle. You are collected from your accommodation, by prior arrangement, hop on board and enjoy the ride to the trailhead. After a day filled with adventure, you will be met by Tongariro Expeditions at Ketetahi mid-afternoon and unwind as we take you back to your drop-off point.

We have great pricing when travelling solo, and offer discounts for families and group transport.

Experience the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with our easy park and ride shuttle. Park at the designated Park & Ride car park (season dependent), catch the shuttle to the trail head at Mangatepopo and follow the track back to your car.

Was a bit apprehensive about the gps coordinates for the meet up but google maps took us straight there, we were met by a friendly driver who talked us through the trip, and we were picked up and returned to our vehicle at the end of the hike. A fabulous day of great memories and aching muscles. We are both 60+, pretty fit but not massively so and did the walk in a relaxed manner in 7 1/2 hours. Definitely recommend taking poles if only for the scree field down from the top.
