Tongariro Holiday Park Return Shuttle

The Tongariro Holiday Park Return Shuttle pick you up from the nearby Holiday Park and drops you at the trailhead in Mangatepopo. We will then pick you up in the afternoon for the return journey back to Tongariro Holiday Park.

The Tongariro Holiday Park Return Shuttle is a RETURN shuttle. This means we take you to the track from the Tongariro Holiday Park in the morning and we pick you up from the end of the track at Ketetahi (between 2-3pm) and take you back to the Tongariro Holiday Park. It is an easy and convenient transport option for those staying at the Tongariro Holiday Park. This is the closest accommodation and transport base to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and is a popular option among many hikers due to it's proximity. 

If you don't want a long drive before or after your hike then choosing our Tongariro Crossing shuttle is a great option. 

Pick-up is in the car park out the front of the Holiday park in the morning - so no need to worry about your camper, you can leave it right where it is for your return. You are then taken to the start of the hike at Mangatepopo in the morning - the journey is about 40 minutes. 

You will then complete the trek and meet us at the Ketetahi car park in the afternoon, for the return journey back to the Tongariro Holiday Park minutes away, where you can spend the afternoon unwinding after your big trek! No walking back to your car!

Was a bit apprehensive about the gps coordinates for the meet up but google maps took us straight there, we were met by a friendly driver who talked us through the trip, and we were picked up and returned to our vehicle at the end of the hike. A fabulous day of great memories and aching muscles. We are both 60+, pretty fit but not massively so and did the walk in a relaxed manner in 7 1/2 hours. Definitely recommend taking poles if only for the scree field down from the top.
